About Us
What is a venture crew?
Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 and have completed the eighth grade, or age 14 through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
What does Crew 1022 do?
Crew 1022 is based out of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA. Some of the things we have done are with the Youth Group, and others are independent. Activities we have participated in include rock climbing, skiing, canoeing, camping, in addition to many others. Our meetings (every other week) are filled with productivity, as well as pool, snacks, foosball, and lots of fun times.
Why Crew 1022?
We chose 1022 as our crew number because October 22 is the feast day of our patron, Saint John Paul the Great.
